This is where you can talk about anything fishing.

30g = ???

I have in my head a picture of the perfect balanced rig
I have in my box the equipment to assemble the rig
I have not the capability to assemble my perfect rig
Can anybody please tell me what 30g and 20g equates to in shot size?

I'm sorting out my box, and to my horror I've ran out of 3inch ready made hook lengths (Korum) whats the best way to tie exactly three inch hook lengths?

The best way to tie a three inch hooklength is to first tie on your hook.Then you double the line over three inches from the hook to make a loop.Tie the usual double overhand knot and making sure you keep hold of the top of the loop pull tight.To get a nice small neat loop use a seymo loop maker.

take a small peice of timber, mine is 1' long x 1" wide x1/2" deep, just measured it. into this hammer in 4 small panel pins/small nails, at one end. then in line with these , hammer in 4 more pins , one at 4", 6" 8" and 10".and call it your hooklength measure. when you have tied a hook, hook your hook to one end pin, then wrap the other end around your desired length this form a natural loop for you to lift of and tie a simple loop for attaching loop to loop on your main line. Voila simples, :ugeek: you will notice my smallest is 4" not 3"! ,another story that one :roll:
